As a woman in farming, we put ourselves on the bottom of the to-do list. Like at the very bottom. Self-care is never a priority when there is so much to do, right?
And I’ve heard from you men, too, it’s not limited to just us “farm gals.”
We put our self-care:
- AFTER we make our husband’s lunch…
- AFTER we get the kids ready for school…
- AFTER we tend to the cows…
- AFTER all of our “other” responsibilities are met…
Which honestly, leaves zero time for ourselves.
But what if I told you that after years of putting myself dead last, it was no wonder I was resentful, tired and ready to quit.
Today, with the help of Marc, my psychotherapist husband, I now make time for me.
No exceptions. No excuses.
